About us

Land Management Services Ltd is a landscape and environmental consultancy specialising in sustainable landscape management, maintenance, design, ecology and planning.

The aim of the consultancy is to promote the wise use of land and to aid its design, maintenance and management in a productive, cost-effective and responsible manner.

LMS is also a registered practice of the Landscape Institute.

Helen is a landscape manager with wide ranging experience in all aspects of landscape management and planning work. She has been involved in projects covering a broad spectrum of rural and urban landscapes, including industrial, commercial, power projects, retail, housing, schools, town and country parks, agricultural and semi-natural landscapes.

Recent project experience has included mineral planning and restoration, management plans for private and public landscapes, historic restoration (including a range of applications to the Heritage Lottery Fund), preparation and supervision of management and maintenance contracts, habitat creation and management for nature conservation.
Helen has particular experience in facilitating public consultation, and is also a CABE Space Enabler.

David Withycombe BSc MSc MPhil CMLI


David is a landscape manager with over 20 years' experience in the public and private sectors.

He has particular skills in landscape character and visual assessment, management strategies and plans, maintenance contracts, budgetary and resource planning of landscape construction and maintenance.

His project experience includes management plans for heritage parks including Battersea Park and Crystal Palace Park, landscape and visual assessments for major infrastructure, transport and rural developments, countryside and estate management strategies and maintenance contracts for local authorities, residential and commercial developments.

David has presented evidence at local plan inquiries on behalf of local authority and private clients, and is a lecturer in Landscape Management at Hadlow College.
